Scope of this notice
This notice covers personal information processed through ConnectLawyers.in, including account creation, case posting, lawyer profiles, messaging and support. Independent lawyers may separately handle information under their own professional obligations. Ask your lawyer how they handle information outside this platform.
Account and profile information
Registration asks for your name, email address, password and account type. Profile features may ask for a phone number, location and professional information. Lawyer verification may require Bar Council enrolment details and supporting documents. Provide accurate information and avoid uploading identity documents unless a feature specifically requires them.
Cases, messages and uploaded documents
We process the situation you describe, case location, budget preferences, follow-up answers, applications, messages and documents to operate the service. A legal matter can reveal sensitive information about you or other people. Start with a concise summary; leave out passwords, bank credentials, complete identity numbers and unrelated medical or personal records. Share only material you are authorised to provide.
AI-assisted features
Case analysis, follow-up questions and translation can send submitted text to Google Gemini when configured. AI results can contain mistakes and are not legal advice. Review generated text before posting or relying on it. Do not enter confidential information into an AI-assisted feature unless you are comfortable with that processing.
Who can receive information
Case information is used in lawyer discovery and application workflows, so a posted case should not be treated as a private conversation with an engaged lawyer. Messages and documents are available according to the access permissions of the relevant feature. Authorised administrators may access information for verification, support, abuse prevention and disputes. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal obligation requires it.
Service providers and payments
The service uses hosting, database, email and, where enabled, SMS, WhatsApp, verification and payment providers. Razorpay Checkout is loaded when you start an enabled payment flow. Payment credentials entered in its checkout are processed by the payment provider; the platform records order identifiers, amounts and payment status. Providers may process data in other countries under their own terms and applicable requirements.
Security and operational records
We use authentication, access checks and encrypted document storage in supported workflows. Security and audit records can include timestamps, account identifiers, network addresses and user-agent information. No system can promise absolute confidentiality or security. Protect your login credentials and report suspected unauthorised access through support.
Storage and retention
Account, case and communication records remain available while needed to provide the service. Account closure does not necessarily immediately erase all related records: payment, security, dispute and legally required records may need to be retained. Backup copies may persist beyond changes to the active database. Contact support to ask which records can be removed in your circumstances.
Your choices and requests
You can update available profile fields, change notification preferences and use account settings to request account closure. You can also ask for access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent by contacting admin@connectlawyers.in. Include the account email and the nature of the request, without attaching identity documents initially. We may ask for proportionate verification before releasing or changing account information. Some requests may be limited by legal obligations or the rights of other people; withdrawing information needed for a feature may prevent that feature from working.
Browser storage and communications
Authentication tokens, language settings, session activity and consent choices are stored in your browser. The Cookie Policy explains these uses. Notification emails may contain a preference link; essential password and security messages are separate from optional notifications.
Children and other people’s information
An adult should manage an account and any legal matter involving a child. Avoid posting identifying information about children or unrelated third parties in a case summary. If you believe information has been submitted without appropriate authority, contact support with enough context to locate the record.
Questions and changes
Send privacy questions or complaints to admin@connectlawyers.in with the subject “Privacy request”. We may revise this notice as the service changes. The date shown on this page identifies this revision; new processing that requires a separate choice should be explained where that choice is requested.
